novice leica question for you experts- today at a camera show, a former
leica technical employee (now in business repairing leica's[not that many
need repairing I'm sure]) told me to beware of the subject lens as they
were notorious for having bad glue joints between the elements.  the
particular lens I was looking at was a Canada lens serial number 2727106.

Can anyone tell me if this is true.  I was interested in purchasing the
lens and it looked good but I have deferred the purchase at least until I
have more info.
