Dear Fellow LUGnuts,

I have the new Leica grip and it fits my M6's and M3 without modification.
It has a key that you turn on the buttom of the grip similar to the base
plate of the M series cameras.

Do I like it?

I have mixed feelings. It is a little two small to permit you to grip the
camera and wrap your fingers around the grip. It also changes the way that
you have to hold the camera when you bring it up to eye level.

It seems the more I use the M6, the more I like it without a strap to get
in the way. I mainly use the Gripper 1/2 " strap from Domke. The main
strap detaches leaving two four inch pieces that clip together forming a
little handle. I wish I could find a leather strap that detached easily so
I could grip the camera without straps but re-attach them easily to hang
the camera around my neck for walking. I still haven't found the perfect
strap that doesn't get in the way.

I have an older Leica Standard that is a little smaller than the M6. It
handles much nicer and doesn't even have strap lugs on the camera. I guess
it was the first true pocket camera from Leitz. If anyone else has found
the perfect strap, I'm all ears.

Sincerly,

Richard
