LUGnuts:

I remember talking to Luis Casteneda recently about Leica reliability
and he said he had bought three R7s when they came out, but decided to
use just one as much as possible and see how long it would last.

Last count: 10,000 rolls without adjustment, repair or even cleaning.

He is now off using the R8s, but was complaining last night during a
conversation about weight and size and especially of the R8 with the
70-180. But then he does almost exclusively travel and puts miles and
miles on his feet. Next trip, he said, may be back to the R7, 100 macro
and 180APO, and Ms for wide angle.
