Digital photography has made great advances in both the amateur and
professional markets. I think when they can produce a digital camera
and equivalent print output at the nearly the same price as a
disposable camera and processing..... perhaps then film will die. But
that's only if digital goes beyond the gadget conscious to the overall
masses. I think though, that the Jolly green and yellow giants will
continue to make film until the global market dries up. And even then
we'll probably be able to get Forte or something.

Living in Ecuador, I can tell you that there are a lot of people still
using 126 and 110 cameras in Latin America. There are many countries
where people do not have the disposable income to buy decent 35mm
cameras let alone digital cameras. The majority of people in the
world still only shoot one roll or two of film a year. For them
traditional film is still the most cost effective approach.

Kodak still makes film for Circuit Cameras and let's see, those went
out of production 40 or 50 years ago????? It just shows that as long
as there is sufficient demand and a profit to be made, products will be
manufactured.

Great news about the rebate extension.....
