i really like the older collapsable summicron 2.0 50's - great optics, and
the collapsable feature to me reinforces the M's design strength in
portability.  try to find the vented newer lens shade that goes with it.

i only shoot 50's unless the situation demands otherwise (many years ago i
was a nikon/35mm lens guy, but changed)

don't know about your zeiss, but you can always stop down...

ps you'll see elmar 2,8's on the market - they produce very pretty images -
and are affordable, maybe because of a design quirk where the f stops
rotate with the lens as you focus - big deal...
