Subject: The truth is out there (or is it?)

I don't know enough about the dispute between Ben Holmes and Bruce Hansen to
know for certain who holds the moral high ground (except that Mr Holmes's
postings strike me as being characterised by good humour and tolerance) but I do
know that positing pictures of a camera on the Web is no indicator of its true
condition.
Besides the effects of Mr Hansen's faulty scanner ('The plastic plug for the
bulb flash connection looks funny in one picture because of the problem with my
scanner'), there is no way that the viewer can tell whether these images have
been cleaned up in Photoshop, or whether they haven't.
A trade between two individuals is just that - between two individuals. Here's
hoping that future transactions can stay that way.
