It has taken me  more than 3 months to get passport warranty cards from
Leica. In the past years I have owned several M6s and have never had a
problem with any of them.  I did have with an M4-P where the fron window
on the viewfinder came lose.  I can't rember very well about that camera,
but I think I had some kind of shutter problem with it also.

BTW the Brian Bower Leica Reflex Photography  book finally got here today
after sitting in the Oklahoma City UPS office since August 1 (before the
strike)  It was ordered from he Leica Gallery exactly one month ago -
July 28.  The book looks very comparable to his on Leica M Photography. 
Only thing is that I get the impression that it is a quick make over to
hit the R8 market and the updating is kind of hit or miss.  His
discussion of R lenses is very short and disappointing..  Pictures are
quite good and, on the whole, is an enjoyable book.
