The Summitars were only made for rangefinder use and, in fact, all
production lenses were in Leica thread-mount (LTM).  The Summitar was
produced from 1939 until 1955;  all made from 1946 on were coated, and,
possibly, an occasional one before that.

The Summitar can, of course, be fitted for use on an M camera with an
adapter, though it was made for use on the LTM bodies.
