Canvas is much easier to waterproof chemically than ballistic nylon.  You can
buy a can of canvas-tent-waterproofing and do up a Domke bag.  Scotchguarding
works, but not quite as well.  The problem with Domke bags is that except for
the little F5XB "shoulder/belt bag", none of them have zippers in addition to
the quick-clips, to close the main compartment securely when you need to.  Do
the Billingham bags have zippered main compartments?
