It reads both incident and 5-degree spot (the viewfinder is built-in not add-on), ambient, flash and combined (fill), cord or cordless for the flash. It can be set for either aperture or shutter priority, has a 3-reading memory, and takes AA battery. It is also weather-sealed. And, considering all this, it is reasonably compact. The bad news is the price for a new one ($409 in NY). I bought mine used for $275 from Ken Hansen. Doc
