I

I saw the same with my 35/2, and swapped it for a 35/1.4 ASPH. The
aspherical has less vignetting than the 35/2, and at f4 it is gone for all
practical purposes.

It is not the lens hood. The 35/2 will show vignetting full open both with
and without the hood.

In many situations the vignetting of the 35/2 will not interfere with the
picture. However, for _my_ available light needs the vignetting really was
too much. Especially when underexposing a little bit, the vignetting can
become very noticeable on the 35/2. And if there is snow, a white wall or a
blue sky around, the vignetting will attract attention to itself. And we do
have a lot of snow around here.

My Nikkor 24/2.8 and 35/2 (old stuff) has less vignetting than the Leica
35/2.

"Available light" is heralded as a Leica M strong point, and I went for the
Leica 35mm having the least amount of vignetting between full open and
f5.6. I sort of thought that was proper.
