In a message dated 97-11-30 03:54:35 EST, you write:

<< I had one of these things made by Leitz. It never worked. And a Leica
technician told it never worked. And he told me he threw them all out that
Leica had in NJ. I still have the one I bought; and it still doesn't work.
And it never will work. It you attached the guide to the base plate, it
didn't work either. It never wound the film. It will never wind the film. It
is a Leica dud. I keep it with the Leitz compact flashgun that never worked.
Leitz also distributed a two-piece Braun electronic flash that never worked
either. But, dear colleagues, the story of that flash is too painful to
 relate. >>
I have one of these kits in each of my M2's and they
both work perfectly. I always make sure the film winds on a turn or so
before closing the camera up...which is what I do with the M6 and every other
manual-winding 35mm camera I've ever owned. If you just insert the leader in
the slot and close it up I've had my M6's fail to grab the film many times.
