The Focoslide is a device that puts a camers and a separate ground glass
on a sliding plane.  The lens or some other device is attached to
another plane that the first plane slides on.  To use it you focus on
the ground glass, then slide the whole plane over so that the camera can
see through the lens.  A SM Focoslide takes any SM lens (for closeup
only), extension tubes, variable extension tube, or the bellows I.  If
you have enough tubes you can go to any extension.  Actually one time I
used  a wrapping paper tube and tape.  Leica also made the 1:1 fixed
focus device, called the BELUN, and the BEHOO, which was variable.  The
Focoslide is obviously not for action shooting--Marshall
