Hi Ferdinand.

I'm a fellow lugger myself and currently residing in Kuala Lumpur, the capital
of Malaysia. Great place and just like most other major cities.

There are loads of places to shoot in Kuala Lumpur and my best advise is to
get those travel brochures which are commonly obtained at the Subang
International Airport upon arrival - they will highlight the best places to go
for. I wish I could show you around but I'll be leaving for a 3 month sojourn
in Sioux Falls South Dakota USA in a few days time. Wrong timing friend. If
you do get the opportunity, travelling out of Kuala Lumpur would get you to
may great scenic wonders such as rural places which are great subjects
especially with the farms, rice fields, villages (called "kampong" in their
language), cultural items etc.

Kuala Lumpur is a safe place to go and crime rate is as normal as it can be
just like in London . I would not worry about it at all. I assume you're
having someone as travel guide ? Beware of pickpockets though and make sure
that you're not fleeced by the cabs around town . Notorious habits they have.
Try not to make your camera gear too visible around alleys and deserted
places. Tempting proposition for robbers anywhere.

I wouldn't claim to be an expert at photography at all but I guess you would
need the 28mm lenses for the landscape wonders . The rest of your outfit
sounds okay to me. Maybe someone else can help you here.

p.s.if there is anything else to know you can e-mail me and I'll try my best
to answer.

Regards.Izzy
