Tom and all other grumblers: There is too much wishful thinking by LUGgers
about what a future LEICA M or R should be like. If you want a rangefinder
camera with autofocus get a G2; If you want 10 or whatever frames per second
buy a F5. With all the wished for "doodads" the shape and weight of the
cameras cannot be preserved. Remember the M5 and CL? It is still not
accepted as a real LEICA. To want all this often unneeded electronic
wizardry is like wishing to have a Ferrari or Porsche with automatic
transmission! Evolutionary change is the LEICA philosophy;I think that
subscribers of the LUG collectively prefer quality and reliability as
opposed to planned obsolescence and gimmickry.
