Subject: [Leica] Real Leicas

Hi All,

Sniff.

This discussion of what Leica should add to their M camera line ignores the
fact that Real Leicas do not have rangefinders. Anyone who has to rely on
focus aids at all is not a True Leica Photographer (tm), any more than someone
who, ahem, requires light meters. And lever-type film advances are clearly
unnatural: Leica should have never abandoned the practical and attractive
advance knobs. Interchangable lenses? What's wrong with the Elmax, I say? A
fine lens, good enough for the True Leica Photographer. If you can't get the
picture with the Elmax, then you don't need to take it in the first place.

Coatings on lenses? Humbug!

Bayonet mounts? Bayonets are for killing people! Now, screw mounts...

(with tongue firmly in cheek)
