And the lens inscript does not allow the complete word "aspeheric", because the engraving of "Ein Stuck Leica" does not leave enough space. The M6-ESL's Summilux is the aspheric version with two concave lenses. I concur with Alfred's findings, regardless to what Leica PR has to say...... The lenses have 2 concave elements, front and back. Is this the super rare 35 F1.4 Summilux Aspherical? If yes, now you know where all those early Ashperial lenses went.... Comment to Stephen Gandy... I agree with your comments about my theory on the S/N, but is is only a theory, and as yet proven nor un-proven by facts. I repeat.... does anyone recognize any of the S/N?
