Setting the 50/2 NF Summicron at infinity for mounting on early M6 
bodies is mandatory.  The 1987 "Handbook of the Leica System" (i.e. 
Leitz catalog) notes for the M6: "50 mm Summicron f/2 with near 
focusing device must be set to infinity when the lens is changed."
