Another option would be to subscribe to and publish our ICQ numbers.  This
allows for notification when members are online to the Internet, real time
chat modes, and instant messages.  A LUG forum can also be created.  I
haven't been to hotnotions, they may offer a similar service.  I do know
that ICQ <http://www.mirabilis.com> is very popular, and very easy to set
up and use.
