In the end budget will determine your choice.  I have a Mamiya RZ that, as
you pointed out, is great in studio but too heavy for field use.
For square format I have used the Bronica SQAi and prefer it over any other
( Hasselblad included).  645 is probabely the best bet for extended trips
and, in my opinion, Mamiya is a cut above the rest in that format.  If
portraiture is your primary goal, i would concentrate on the two I have
mentioned.  But then, a Ford will take you anywhere a Chevy will (please no
comment from bemers)
