I did not keep the magazine, but the test was thorough, with Leica and B+W
on top. I don't remember them saying anything about multicoating. All I am
saying is, that IF you use a filter, get a good one, or you will loose image
quality.

Have you been in the dusty parts of Africa, Jim? I bet you would use a
filter there, to protect the front elements of your expensive lenses.
Mechanichal things, like the Al-aperture coupling on Nikon bodies got stuck,
as the dust got everywhere, even inside closed photo bags. It felt a lot
better to whipe off the UV-filters than the front elements.
I don't want to start a filter debate, only that I think that there IS an
argument to protect lenses, at least sometimes.
