While it's true that the Tamron 180 isn't a high demand item, it has a fairly stable resale 
value these days (You'll most always be able to get $350 for a clean one). The older 
Leica 180 is also not a high demand lens and considering its reputation, may not be as 
price stable.

A couple of things in the Tamrons favor are its tiny size, excellent optics and tightest 
minimum focus distance of any, non macro 180. When buying one, make sure to get 
the metal hood and great soft leather case that came with it.
