It is a reasonable question, that has often come up on the list.

And we all, who use the M camera, pretty much agree that it does offer some
benefit for the shutter speed range slower than about 1/30 of a second. I
don't think anyone has quantified it in a formal study, but I woudn't put
it past Pop Photo to try.
