Dave,

When Leitz made if famous engraving error 
on several of there "70th anniversary" M4-P:
1813-1983 instead of 1913-1983, the Napoleonian Leica,
;-)
the wrongly engraved sell in a few hours
as soon it was known.
Years after, the "normal" anniversary M4-P was
still in stock in several shops.
Information is everything.
