Of course not.  This is just Mr. Hull being purposely obtuse in support
of his contrarian thesis that concerns with such trivialities as
composition, decisive moments and human involvement pale before the
one true measure of a photograph's success: crisp stem-to-stern detail
rendition.  Try not to get sucked into letting it bother you; we're all
eccentric in our own special ways.
