I like Canadian M lenses more. Also, I will gladly pay the few hundred dollars more for the Canadian 75mm Summilux rather than to buy the German version. Here is my experience with M lenses: Chrome 50mm Summicron (Solms): Flaky, spotty, uneven finish. Titanium 35mm Summilux ASPH (Solms): loose aperture ring. $80 repair job. 28mm Elmarit-M (Solms): I bought this lens three days ago. My local retailer brought out five of them (all with consecutive serial numbers) and I had to reject four before settling for the one I bought. There were very obvious white circular streaks that looked like improperly applied cement all along the inside edge of the front elements in three of the lenses. And the fourth was rejected because its rear element had excessive cement on its entire edge, so much that it was beading, looking like the rear element was welded on. The one I took home had a 3mm long lint behind the rear element but I bought it anyway because I couldn't bear to look at another lens. 50mm Noctilux (Canada): perfect inside and out. Chrome 90mm Summicron (Canada): Beautiful, perfect finish, perfect glass, nice bokeh. I have never owned a Wetzler lens. Maybe the country of origin meant something at one time.
