i'm "lucky" enough to have many monitors and there are differences between
"identical" monitors that are ostensibly set to the same settings.

in contrast with someone's assertion that it's sharpness, contrast, and
resolution of detail that separates the "good" from the "great", i'd rather
suggest that a great photograph transcends these details and what monitor
you happen to be looking at it with.

the proof of the pudding is that we can recognize a great photograph on an
lowest common denominator device like a computer monitor.
