2.8/135 Elmarit 2849638 dates from 1977 and is of the second optical
design; mine is 2223761, from 1966, and is of the first optical design. I
love mine: it does all that it should do, and does it well. It is not as
sharp as my other 135's, a 4/135 Elmar, a Tele-Elmar, and a Jupiter-11, but
then it is a stop faster. The goggles strike me as a bit silly, as the
M2/4/6 RF does allow adequate accuracy without them, but they aid fast
focus and composition, a nice touch in an available-light lens like this.
