All your comments are very much appreciated and helpful. In particular,
it is so encouraging that I will be kept busy for awhile doing tests on
iso settings, film type, and perhaps venturing into "souping". For the
last part, I am going to see if I have the budget and proper space for
developing my own negs (don't do printing at home; just renting space at
local darkroom). Truthfully, after reading the generous response on this
topic, I immediately wanted to slosh around some developer and film. I
grabbed a photog equiptment catalog, scanned the pages for darkroom
equipment and almost placed an order!!. Thanks for the great
suggestions on developers and film combos!

THIS WEALTH OF INFORMATION CONTRIBUTED BY ALL (DAN, ERIC, JOHN, ALEXEY,
RICHARD, GARY) COULD BE COMPILED MEANINGFULLY INTO A "GUIDE" PAGE FOR
NEWBIES, BUT I SUSPECT FUTURE IMPROVEMENTS IN FILM AND CHEMICALS WILL
RESULT IN BETTER COMBOS OF EXPERIMENTATION AND HENCE FURTHER
DISCUSSIONS!!

Gratefully,
rkm
