The older series filtered 60/2.8, 90/2.8, 90/2, 100/4, and 135/2.8 can be
upgraded to E55 by Leica. I had my 60mm upgraded about 15 years ago for
$75. A bit more now I presume. On the 60/2.8, I believe the lens formula is
unchanged over the decades. Someone else might be able to verify this.
