I've had a darkroom sink made with 3/4-in plywood and treated with marine
grade epoxy for 30 years and it is still quite seaworthy.  The one I built
has an inner and outer wall with a 1-in wood spacer screwed and glued to
the sink's bottom and a top rail made of 2-in wide stock. 
  Actually the problem was getting it in and out of the darkroom when it
came time to move!   -Jay-
