The silver isn't bad, it's simply a metal, and like other metals is not to
be (by US federal mandate I think) dumped. Doesn't adversely affect us at
least (silver tooth fillings). Rotex Silver Recovery Company sells silver
retrieval kits. They aren't expensive.  Acids are bad for the septic
system. Mix your developer and stop and let stand before pouring down the
drain.
