IMO, the competition is more between the new Nikon AF-S 400/2,8 + F5 and the Canon 400/2,8 + EOS 3. The Leica APO-TELY-R 400/2,8 (Modular system) + R8 is a totally different concept. I think you will have to decide first the type of subject you intend to photograph. Lucien
