the MTF curve being above 100% doesn´t mean there is more information on
the film than in the actual image. Remember the y-axis denotes relative
contrast, so a value above 100% means that the contrast of the slide is
higher than that of the original scene. The MTF curves of high-contrast
repro film (no grey values, just black and white) must be very extreme in
this respect.
