The camera is exactly like the SL except it has no self timer, and the film advance lever does not cut off the meter- I keep a cap on mine between uses and usually change the battery once a year whether it needs it or not! You can get a plastic baseplate cover to cover the contacts, too. Don't get it with hopes of getting the motor! They are 800-1000 USD and are huge and heavy, but the camera is as nice as the plain SL - if you get a chance at one, go for it! Dan dwpost@msn.com
