Bud,

Every time I use the Summicron-M f/2 50mm DR (Dual Range or Near
Focusing), I am astounded at the results. However, usually shoot it
with B&W, and not color, so I would not be a good reporter as to whether
or not it is warmer than my latest version. In a LUG post dated 27 Feb
1998, Steve Gandy [whose technical information is excellent] reports
that the second series of the DR has a "warmer" lens coating. My DR
falls in the second series of the DR with a serial no. of 235473xx.

In the near future, I will try to shoot both of the Summicron fifties on
the same roll of color film on one of the Ms and give my report [if I
can tell the difference].

Best Regards and Good light (with the snow it should be bright in
Rochester, MN),
