Darrell,

I travel and enjoy underwater photography with a Nikonos V, 15 mm lens and
underwater flash. The problem in traveling with that equipment is that it
must remain dry and protected from falling weight belts, tanks and even
airline baggage handlers. The Pelican series contains many cases that can
be used for travel and on the dive boat. Never jump in the water with your
underwater camera. Have someone hand it down to you once you are on the
water surface with your bouancy vest inflated and mask in place. The jolt
of jumping into the water can force water in between the lens and body
causing the camera to "flood." Once you submerge, the external water
pressure pushes the lens against the camera body and the O ring seal
actually becomes more effective.

Remember when traveling by air that you release the air pressure relief
valve after the plane lands. Many a time the increased pressure squeezes
the Pelican case so much that you can't open it. The relief valave lets the
external and internal air pressure equalize so you can open the case.

Good luck with your diving.
