(re: possible use of plastic ASPH element)

Can anyone else comment on whether or not the ASPH element in the
latest 35/1.4 is plastic or glass (or did I misinterpret the post)?
Is this just a rumor, or is there any substance to it?  I'm curious
about the mechanical and optical longevity.
