Subject: [Leica] RE; 3 cam lens on SL

The reason that some of the 3 cam lenses will not fit on the SL because
there is a plate on the SL ( I believe that this is the access plate to
adjust the meter) and some of the 3 cam lenses have a slightly larger
rear outer diameter that do the older lenses. I have a 3 cammed 35
summicron that did not fit and a 3 cammed 50 summicron that did. And if
I remember correctly the 24 mm lens would not fit either. I had a
technician who said if I could find another meter cover plate he would
notch it and then all of the lenses would fit the SL, but I decided
against it and not long after that I traded the SL toward a mint R6.
