I will second the 200 dpi comment.  I send my best prints to a service
lab who prints with Fujix 4000 continuous tone printers.  This gives
about 11x16 from a PhotoCD scan which is 2048x3072 pixels and 18
Mbyte.  I've compared custom and digital prints from the same negative
and while the custom are barely sharper than the digital, the color
quality of the digital is much better.
