I have just read an interesting biography of Robert Capa (I forget the
author's name at the moment). I have not read any of his own books yet
(I plan to).

The impression I get, when Capa was photographing non--wartime subjects,
was that he was a charming conversationalist and spent a lot of time
talking with his potential subjects before photographing them.

I also got the impression that, in his wartime photographs, Capa did not
always aim for the thick of the action, but found many of his best
pictures behind the action, in lines of refugees, in soldiers resting
from combat, etc.
