Leica makes most of their own lenses in Solms. Some lenses are subcontracted out to Zeiss and Schneider Germany, Kyocera of Japan and the former Leitz facility in Midland, Canada. Leica also maintains a production facility in Portugal, which produces mainly subassemblies. These facilities are the only places Leica lenses are made. Bill Rosauer
