I live in Seattle, so they get wet all the time!  ;-)

No, not too worried about damaging them.  Active shooting is risky for
equipment.  What's the alternative?  Leave them at home and take your cheap
consumer zooms?  Not an option...  Fortunately, none of the Canon gear is
very expensive to replace.

Jim you are right, zone focusing is an option with normal to wide lenes
in well lit or fast film speed situations but since as you say you are
shooting medium speed films with long lenes AF is a boom. Aren't you
worried about getting one of those high end monster lenes wet?
