I called the local distributor (in Sydney) and requested a = quote........wait for it.......AUD358.00. If that doesn't make the North = American members of the LUG sit up....it equates to around USD229.00, or = around 250% mark-up!!!!!!! (on the B&H price anyhow). So the next time one of the Antipodean luggites complains about = tax/duty/freight to the bottom of the Pacific.....you will know why. = Incidentally, I don't think that our standard of living/salaries etc is = remarkably better than anywhere in the US/Canada -- even though Sydney = was recently shown to be a more expensive city than New York for living = in (average cost of property/houses etc). I think that the research must = also been conducted on a comparative pricing of Leica/Rollei/Domke etc = etc. Ross P.S.
