[Leica] Lens on CL

Dear Lee,
Please check out the Steve Gandy site at cameraquest. He has a good
discussion on mounting Leica lenses on CL and CLE bodies. I sold my CL
years ago and can't remember if the 35's will mount or not. I think they
will. I still use CLEs and pre ASP 35s will mount (BE CAREFUL! see the
Gandy site for instructions) but won't focus beyond about 10 feet without
binding. 50mm DRs will mount and focus in normal range on both CL and CLE
but the goggles won't work because of the different spacing of the
rangefinder windows. All 90s will fit fine on both cameras but at widest
aperture you *may* have problems with focussing accuracy on the CL
(different cam angle) but I have used a 90 Summicron, 90 Tele-elmarit and
latest 90 Elmarit (sharp lens!) on my CLE without any more problems
focussing than I have with my standard M6 using my *old* eyes. That is why
I prefer an M6HM for the increased focussing accuracy for longer focal
length lenses.
