<< Sure !!! Look at the Nikon F2, a mostly great camera. When using the
motor
drive, however, you cannot disconnect the motor drive from the camera while
the camera is loaded without fogging the film. In order for the motor to be
used, the lock for the camera back, located in the baseplate, must be
removed, to provide a connection for the motor shaft. The result is, that
when the motor is removed, there is a hole in the baseplate, allowing for a
light leak. Compare this with the SL and SL-2 MOT cameras where the motor
can be attached or removed at any point with film in the camera. >>

There's a bit of a light leak removing the M6's winder with film loaded, too.
But no such problem with the R8 motor drive...or so rumor has it.
