Bud: That "Old Buick Engine" is a world class power plant. Mine will cruse all
day at 80 and comes back for more. The new truck has over 14,000 new parts and
some of those are in the power plant. Such as an all new Bosch fuel injection
system. Yes BMW has some good power plants, but don't under rate the 4.0 and 4.5
mills in the current rovers- it's really a world class engine. Some after market
people have even taken it up to 5.4 with a little bore and longer stroke.
Remember that the 96 Disco's weight in at close to 4600 lb. and while it's not a
sprint car it does what it was designed for and with style. Would be nice if we
could get the 300 TD, but it's to dirty an engine for the states emissions
policies.
Cheers Wilber
