Yes. The lens unscrews from the barrel. I don't know why they were 
manufactured that way, but they were. The barrel mate to my lens
has the same serial # inscribed where the lens sits when screwed in.
Perhaps the lens could be used for the visoflex or put to some other 
purpose, I don't know. Would some lens historian enlighten us here?

There is some controversy about whether the close-up range will 
work on an M6. I've had no trouble; but since I also have R bodies, I no
longer rely on the "eyes" for close ups.
