Tom,

As you've noted there's a very big difference between using a long lens
hand-held and using the same lens on a tripod.  It make a whole different
kind of image possible.

BTW I use mostly Kodachrome 64 and 200 with my f/6.8 Telyts.  My wife (a
beginning photographer) also would never let me hear the end of it if I
were to lose my sanity and sell the Telyts.
