Over the years I've stayed in Köln, Bonn, Seigberg, Hennef, Bad Godesberg,
etc. It really doesn't matter where you stay as long as the train station
is near. Your Photokina pass is also a train pass. You can ride the train
to and from Photokina, and any points around, at any time during Photokina,
free. And there is a Photokina train station. It sure beats the gridlock
auto traffic. I tried that a few times. The train is basically door to
door. Simple, easy, and quick. The free pass is from Köln south. I don't
know why it doesn't cover north of Köln. Last year I stayed in Uckerath.
Wonderful small country town. Which includes a "Kegler Paradies
Schaukelkeller." :-)
